With the holiday season upon us and Thanksgiving approaching, it’s an appropriate time to consider what we are thankful for in our lives.
This is a time to reflect upon the year and our own personal harvest, reviewing what we have in our lives and giving thanks.
Yet true gratitude extends beyond thankfulness. It is an amazing emotion that brings awareness and understanding, compassion and love.
Join us as we explore ways to connect with and practice gratitude, thereby realizing the true blessings that surround us every day. This Sunday, Nov. 17, at 10:30 a.m. at the Pagosa Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, we invite you to join us as Michael Demchak, lay minister, explores the practice of gratitude, not just for the season, but every day.
Demchak currently serves the Pagosa Unitarian Universalist Fellowship as the steering committee president and has led many Earth-centered rituals and services throughout the years.
From our recent series shared by the Foothills Unitarian Church, our congregation continues to practice putting love at the center, which is part of the core values of this faith. We are called to action through our shared covenant, which is expressed through a set of inseparable and deeply interdependent shared values.
Imagine a flower image with love at the center, then place six petals around it with the following: pluralism, generosity, interdependence, equity, justice and transformation.
This is the framework by which we turn to our personal and spiritual growth and take action to make a difference in the world. We welcome diversity and all are included as we live this human experiment. Come, let us worship together.
